3 KNOCKS AND A MURMUR. I have always loved experiences, I love to see things for myself which is why hearsays never appeal to me, gossips are a no-no for me. But the very weird part of the whole thing is that I loved to experience crazy things. Like being knocked down by a car, sliding under a moving lorry, being burgled. I wanted to have the experience of an armed robber standing in front of me with a gun to my head asking "Your money or your life" and I would shudder in fear "My money". I'd beg him not to shoot, I'd give him all the power he wants over me, feeding his oversized ego while I release all I have. I guess the Universe agreed with me and chose the wrong one on the wrong day.

A cold black night with the droplets of heaven giving me a cause to reflect on my life. My roomate Kosoko, a charcoal black Yoruba boy with thick tribal marks running from his cheek to his chin had gone out to study. He was one who was drunk with his books and he always talked like he was going to create another universe where humans do not exist. Kosoko always spoke of the impossible like how he was going to finish 7 wraps of fufu and egwusi soup very early tommorow morning, he had no money, no means of getting money or even food stuffs, he's cupboard was a haven for rats and cockroaches who had feasted on the wood in anger but he always ate what he wanted. How he did that I have no idea. I placed the pillow beside me as I rolled from side to side on my bed in anger, I hadn't eaten anything and my stomach was growling seriously.

I suddenly began to think about my life, where I was going and this was something I hardly ever thought about. I had squandered all my money on that Useless girl Chi-Chi with her seductive skin which had the semblance of today's Okpa. I thought for so long till I felt my heart sink in and a tear dropped from my left eye. I quickly wiped it off and continued thinking when a knock on the door disrupted me. Knock knock knock "Who be that?". I groaned in anger. Knock knock knock "I say who be that?". I quickly got up from the bed and moved closer to the door. Knock knock knock "You go dey there". I said as I walked back to the bed. "Who be that?" "Mmmmh". I quickly walked to the door and angrily opened it and that was the end of it. I was pushed heavily to the ground by a guy in black, he held a gun on his right hand and a ghana must go bag on his left, just as I had imagined and before you know it he grabbed me and pushed me towards the direction of my cupboard, he kicked open and was greeted with the poor and disappointing sight of a cellophane of garri and one satchet of pure water. He closed the cupboard angrily and brought me to my knees, pointing a gun to my head and I suddenly felt apprehensive and I began to pray to God to receive my spirit. He told me to submit all the money I had on me and I emptied the content of my disappointing wallet. He hit my forehead with the butt of the gun when only 10 naira fell out. He pushed me against the window protector and I hit my head hard. "Chi-Chi or your life?". He whispered into my ears. "Chi-Chi". I screamed as I jumped up from the bed. Oh! It was a dream. "Tigunu? Tigunu? Wetin dey occur?". Kosoko shook me as I stared into his large eyeballs.

My name is Tigunu Ovbheria and I love experiences.
